About the Artist

dolly2.jpg

Dolly Melhem Kacha was born and raised in Lebanon. She studied at the American University of Beirut, earning a Bachelor of Science in Architecture. In 1989, she moved to the United States where she started her career. She currently lives in New York with her husband and their three daughters, and works as a freelance designer, architect and watercolor artist.

Both her personal narrative and her cultural identity inspire her work. Her watercolors represent ephemeral moments in time, which she captures in her landscapes, still life and portraits. Her various subject matters tell her story, from the places she left to the places she’s been. Her images capture her spirit.

Dolly Melhem Kacha has participated in many watercolor exhibits at the Rye Art Center, L’Alliance Francaise and at local libraries. She has donated many of her paintings to organizations and causes she believes in, such as: The French American School of New York (FASNY), SEAL USA (Social and Economic Action for Lebanon), John Paul II Maronite Catholic Church, “Art for Sesobel.”
